INT. MY APARTMENT – AFTERNOON
If…you…use…periods…as…ellipses…between…words…without…a…space…it…counts…those…words…
as…one…word.
You… have… to… break… them… up… with… spaces… to… get… a… proper… word… count.
But–double–dashes–without–spaces–are–O.K.
Unless – there – is – one – of – them – with – two – spaces – on – either – side, in – which – case, the – dash – is – itself – counted – as – a – word.

My word processer won’t allow two dashes between words. It gives me an em dash, instead. I don’t think it affects the word count differently from a dash. I always use a space after an elipsis, anyway.
I’ve changed the options on my WP so it doesn’t auto-correct that stuff. It’s so annoying, and doesn’t translate in an html environment.
Yeah, & w/ellipses & no spaces btwn. words, LJ can’t put in a line break, so you have to scroll over to read the rest of the sentence…& the effect continues alll the way down your friendspage.
BTW, love that stage direction! @>)
